Piedmont Triad International Airport (PTIA) has just adopted its new 2016-2017 budget totaling $29.7 million and, unlike a lot of area local governments that recently adopted budgets, the airport’s budget for the coming fiscal year is smaller than the final budget for the fiscal year that just ended on June 30.

The question of whether or not mountain biking will be allowed in Rich Fork Preserve is ostensibly in the hands of the Guilford County Parks and Recreation Commission.  However, it’s the Guilford County Board of Commissioners who will ultimately decide the matter, and, given that the Parks and Rec Commission hasn’t provided a recommendation after months of debate, the Guilford County commissioners are now taking a more active role in determining the next steps.

A softball team made up of Guilford County officials and staff was all set to go up against the City of Greensboro team in the third-leg of this year’s Guilford Cup competition between the two local governments – however, before the scheduled Saturday, June 25 game took place, the city forfeited.

The Guilford County Schools salary list is the opposite of the City of Greensboro salary list, in which the biggest raises were at the top.  The schools, or perhaps the state, should be congratulated.  Rather than give raises to the top paid school administrators, the state chose to give the biggest raises to new teachers.
